Birds Of Prey - Relaunch Offer

Dates & Times

Thursday - December 7th, 14th, 28th
Tuesday - January 2nd
Times:   10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Overview

During the winter is a great time to visit the Hawk Conservancy Trust, as the winter program can see different birds flown from those during the summer program.

I will have everything crossed that the Snowy Owl (think Harry Potter!), will be part of the flying display.

It has to be cold for this beautiful bird to fly!

The Hawk Conservancy Trust is home to a wide variety of birds of prey and offers us a great selection of beautiful birds to shoot, whilst we practise and learn our camera and photography skills.

You will be guided throughout your day with step-by-step instructions and demonstrations, on how to capture your images; whilst these birds are both stationary and on 'the-wing', during the flying displays.

Your tutors knowledge of the venue will ensure we explore the best locations to shoot from and stay one step ahead of the other visitors at the trust.

This workshop will appeal to those wanting to practise shooting both static and stationary subjects, whilst using a variety of camera modes and settings.

If you have a keen interest in wildlife and birds, you will enjoy being close to these birds of prey ..... sometimes very close!

Equipment

All you need for this workshop is a digital camera, with the memory card empty of previous images and the battery fully charged.

This workshop is suitable for all types of digital cameras - D-SLR; Bridge; Compact and mobile phone cameras.

Suitable For

No matter what your level of experience may be, step-by-step instruction, demonstrations and guidance is given to your level of experience.

A small group size allows individual coaching to guide you through getting some great shots of the beautiful birds of prey.

In the past, subjects have ranged from shooting in the Automatic  and Scenic Camera Modes, to Manual control of all camera settings.

There is no minimum requirement of photography experience required for enrolling on this 'Birds Of Prey' workshop. Total beginners will be shown how to use the automatic and semi-automatic camera modes, but some may prefer to attend one of our beginner courses or workshops first. To find out more please contact us.

Non-photographer partners are welcome to join us and will gain an insight into what to look for and watch, as I guide the photographers through the day.

Subjects Covered

The subjects covered on this workshop are tailored to you individually to your level of experience and a short questionnaire sent to you before you attend your workshop, asking if there is anything in particular you would like to cover during your day.

Tips and techniques will be demonstrated to help over come some of the problems we will face, such how to shoot through wire fences and glass walls in the aviary areas.
