Date Change
For Summer 2021
I have changed the date of our 2nd private day workshop at
Longstock Water Gardens.
With the plants getting a good watering to say the least, during May and now a healthy dose of sunshine for a couple of weeks; the groundsman is expecting a good display of colour around mid-June onwards.
The new date for the 2nd workshop is - Monday, 21st June
The second of our two private dates where our group will be one of only two, giving us plenty of room for taking great shots without other people being in the way.
I am not got going to write too much about the Water Gardens here but list details on the workshops below.
Instead, to get a good feel of what you can expect to see, I give you this link to their website .... Water Gardens

Water Gardens
Longstock, Hampshire:
May 24th, Monday
June 21st, Monday (was June 4th)
Workshops times from 9:30am to 4:00 pm
Your Day
9:30 am to 10:00 am
A safety chat and a talk through of how the day will progress, plus a chance to get our cameras set up before entering the Water Gardens.
10:00 am to 2:00 pm
The first half of the workshop is spent exploring the water gardens.
A beautiful mix of colour, plants, waterways and wildlife.
2:30 pm to 4:30 pm
In the second half, we move to the nursery and cafe area. With time spent in the wall garden shooting a great display of unusual plants and home to the national collection of buddlejas (over 100) .... if the weathers right, a great place to shoot butterflies!
The theme of this workshop is to capture images of the surroundings both up close and as landscapes images.
Mostly looking at the diversity of the plants and trees but also of any visiting nature and wildlife in the waterways.
The move between the water gardens to the cafe and nursery, can be driven with car parking available at both locations.
I am afraid at the moment, the estate grounds are not open to the public, to let us walk from the water gardens to the cafe area.
Tailored To You
The workshop size is limited to 10 on both dates, to allow every one plenty of space and time for individual coaching, on the areas you would like help with.
You will be asked before your day, what areas you would like coaching on in particular.
What To Bring
All you need is your camera with the battery fully charged and the memory card emptied of previous images.
If you have a tripod you may wish to bring it. If not, I will also be demonstrating how to shoot without one and the camera hand-held.
Suitable clothing and footwear for the weather conditions.
Something to drink is recommended and a packed lunch if you wish.
Access
The gardens are access friendly but this is dependant upon the weather.
Car parking is very close/next door and their are toilets both in the water gardens and in the cafe area.
